王志刚,男,1969年1月出生于安徽省怀远县,1991年7月毕业于南开大学化学系,获理学学士学位;1994年毕业于南开大学,获理学硕士学位,研究方向:高分子共混物相分离动力学;1997年毕业于中国科学院长春应用化学研究所,获理学博士学位,研究方向:高分子共混物结晶动力学;高分子材料结构与性能关系。1997年-2000年在美国纽约州州立大学石溪分校化学系做博士后,研究方向:同步辐射X-射线散射和衍射研究聚合物聚集态结构及其形成和演变的动力学过程; 2000年-2002年在美国国家标准和技术研究所做访问学者,研究方向:多相多组分聚合物共混物的形态结构与性能关系;2002年-2004年在美国艾瑞利公司研发中心任高级研究员,研究方向:多相多组分聚合物复合材料的界面和表面结构; 2007年在美国加州州立大学圣他芭芭拉分校材料研究所任访问学者,研究方向:聚合物凝胶化法制备高强度聚合物仿生材料; 2008年10月-2008年12月在美国纽约州州立大学宾汉姆分校机械工程系任访问教授,研究方向:碳纳米管聚合物复合材料的网络结构和晶体生长机理;2004年-2009年在中国科学院化学研究所任研究员,博士生导师,研究方向:聚合物体系结晶动力学和共混及复合材料的流变学;2010年-至今:中国科学技术大学高分子科学与工程系任教授,研究方向:聚合物体系结晶和流变学,聚集态结构的调控,以及结构与性能的关系。曾入选中国科学院2004年“百人计划”,获得择优支持,并于2008年6月顺利通过终期评估。长期从事高分子物理与化学的基础研究 (聚合物及其共混物、填充体系的分相、结晶和流变学研究),工程塑料的增强和增韧机理研究, 以及高聚物/粘土纳米复合材料以及高聚物/碳纳米管复合材料制备和性能研究。迄今,已发表学术论文105篇(不含会议论文),其中SCI论文95篇;2006年以来这些论文被SCI论文总引用1268次,他引1078次。另外,还发表美国化学学会和美国物理学会的国际会议论文40余篇。申请发明专利6项,其中国际专利一项,获得授权2项。作为项目负责人,主持并完成基金委重大基金项目子课题1项和面上项目2项,主持并完成中石油企业产业开发项目2项,主持基金委在研面上项目1项。

王志刚教授课题组早在2011年就产生了通过快速降温方法产生预形成球晶并研究不同温度下的剪切诱导结晶行为的思想。实验研究主要通过Linkam CSS450剪切热台搭配相差和偏光显微镜原位观察在低于等规聚丙烯熔点温度下预形成球晶对剪切场下结晶形貌的演变过程。若不存在预形成球晶,施加剪切仅促进了成核,结晶形貌仍为均匀分布的球晶。在预形成球晶条件下,同等剪切条件却诱导形成了取向的结晶形貌。剪切温度不同,结晶形貌差别显著。在155 ℃下剪切,形成了从预形成球晶生长出的线状晶体,而在160 ℃和163 ℃下剪切则形成了宽度与预形成球晶尺寸接近的柱状晶体形貌。

通过原子力显微镜(AFM)对结晶后样品的晶体形貌进行了详细观察,发现剪切温度为155 ℃时的线状结晶形态是由高度密集堆砌的晶体构成(图2a, b),而剪切温度为160 ℃时的柱状晶体形态则是由松散堆砌的晶体组成,其中可明显观察到晶体间隙内垂直生长的片晶结构(图2c, d)。

两种独特且差别显著的结晶形貌形成主要是由于预形成球晶与平行石英板的相互作用,在剪切过程中,不同剪切温度导致球晶与石英板和熔体发生了不同程度的相对位移,从而改变了球晶周围的应力分布,导致球晶周围发生了不同程度的分子链取向和松弛进而诱导成核和晶体生长。剪切温度越高,则分子链取向程度越低, 松弛越快,形成了更为松散堆砌的晶体结构。该工作通过引入预形成球晶的创新性思路,改变聚合物分子链的取向和松弛,从而诱导形成了两种独特取向结晶形貌,则有望应用于聚合物加工制品的性能改进。

此研究成果以“Effect of Flowing Preformed Spherulites on Shear-Induced Melt Crystallization Behaviors of Isotactic Polypropylene”为题目,近日发表在美国化学会Macromolecules杂志上(Macromolecules 2018, 51, 1756-1768)。论文第一作者为博士生汪俊阳王志刚教授为通讯作者。

本工作得到了国家自然科学基金委面上项目和四川大学高分子材料工程国家重点实验室开放基金的支持。论文作者也感谢大分子期刊编辑以及三位审稿人的理解和支持以及提出的宝贵建设性修改意见。
