研究方向：
材料及生物样品（三维）结构的同步辐射X射线衍射研究；
三维相干衍射成像技术研究及发展，主要用于结构测试；                                                         
深悉表面科学原理，纳米技术及原理以及生物分子结构；
发现晶体截断棒(Crystal Truncation Rods), 这一现象被广泛被X射线衍射技术利用并用于表面及界面结构测试。


学习工作经历：
1976-1981 Ph.D. in Biophysics at Harvard University, USA.
1973-1976 M.A. in Natural Sciences at Cambridge University, UK.

1995年X射线物理戈登会议主席（Chair of X-ray Physics Gordon Conference）；
2002-2005年国际晶体学联合会同步辐射委员会主席（Chair of IUCr Synchrotron Radiation Commission）；
